1. Acceptance
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and AI Babu governing your use of the Santuary AI mobile app ("the App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. License to Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for lawful, personal purposes and in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the app store you obtained it from.
3. Medical Disclaimer
Santuary AI is not a medical device, nor does it provide clinical therapy, medical advice, or psychiatric treatment. The local companion chat, CBT thought records, and trackers are educational tools designed to support general mental well-being and self-reflection. If you are experiencing severe distress, clinical depression, or are having thoughts of self-harm, please seek immediate assistance from a licensed medical professional, therapist, or emergency services.
4. Acceptable Use & Content Policy
Santuary AI provides reflection and journaling tools. You agree that you will not use the App to write, log, or share content (such as when opting into anonymized sharing) that:
- is illegal, or facilitates illegal activity;
- promotes self-harm, violence, or suicide;
- harasses, threatens, or promotes hate speech against individuals or groups;
- infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
5. Your Content & Responsibility
You retain ownership of all the reflections, text entries, and macros you input. Because the App runs locally, your records are saved solely on your device. You are solely responsible for the content you create and for maintaining your own backup files.
6. Ads & Subscriptions
The free tier of the App is supported by ads. You can subscribe to Pro to remove ads, unlock extra premium themes, and customize your companion. Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store / Google Play billing gateways and are subject to their terms of purchase. Pro benefits can be restored at any time in settings.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that companion responses will meet specific expectations. Companion chats are produced by local language models and may occasionally produce incorrect, inaccurate, or illogical suggestions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Babu will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the App or any content created or tracked within it.
9. Termination
You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting the App and all local data. We may terminate your license if you violate these Terms.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms as the App evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date and provide in-app notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
